Jennifer Hudson Inks Deal To Write Weight Loss Memoir
Academy Award-winning actress and singer, Jennifer Hudson, has inked a deal with Dutton, an imprint of Penguin Group, to pen a memoir detailing her struggles with weight. The still-untitled book, due in January 2012, will also expand on how she shed 80 lbs.
Hudson has had her share of weight ups and downs. Dubbed "the big girl" as a contestant on season 3 of "American Idol," she transformed her body for her Oscar-winning turn as Effie in "Dreamgirls" by gaining more than 20 lbs. She signed on as a Weight Watchers spokeswoman last year and has since gone from a size 16 to a svelte size 6.
"I'm in the best shape of my life!" she recently gushed to People. Still, she admitted, "In my head, I am still the same weight I was before, It takes a while to get used to it." But one thing is certain. Said Hudson, "This is the way I want to be and the way I want to stay!"
Hudson released her sophomore album, "I Remember Me," in March. The set has sold 338,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Beyonce's "Party" Featuring Andre 3000 Leaks Onto Internet
Another track from Beyoncé's upcoming fourth album, "4," has leaked.
"Party," featuring Andre 3000, differs from previous "4" tracks ("Run the World (Girls)," "1 +1," "Best Thing I Never Had,") with its late 80's New Jack Swing inspired soundscapes by Kanye West and Consequence. ' The feel good track samples Slick Rick and Doug E. Fresh's classic, "La Di Da Di," according to 'Rap-Up.'
Kanye kicks off the slinky synthesized track with a quoteable line, "You a bad girl and your friend's bad too/ You got the swag sauce, you drippin' swaggu."
Beyonce follows, singing of partying and going off the love she's feeling, "I might be young, but I'm ready/To give you all my love/I told my girls you can get it/Don't slow it down, just let it go."
Before closing, Outkast's Andre 3000 delivers as he's known to do, "Kiddo says he looks up to me/This just makes me feel old/ Never thought that we could become someone else's hero/Man, we were just in the food court, eating our gyros."

Lady Gaga Honored As Style Icon at CFDA Awards
On stage to accept her award as the year's top style icon, a soft-spoken, maybe even teary-eyed Lady Gaga said she was nervous.
"All of you made me feel like a star before I was," she told the audience at Lincoln Center that boasted bold-faced names such as Marc Jacobs, Anna Wintour, Diane von Furstenberg, Donna Karan and Michael Kors.
She talked about how important fashion was in her life as a pathway to self-discovery, artistry and confidence. As a teenager, she'd save her money to buy vintage Thierry Mugler from a neighborhood thrift shop, checking in with the salesman regularly to make sure her favorite pieces hadn't sold while she was raising the cash.
She planned her outfits for Friday night parties as if she was going to the Oscars, she said.
"As much as this award means to me personally ... I just want you to know how much this means to young Americans," Gaga said.

Gwen Stefani: "My Solo Career Is Over"
In a recent interview, “Rich Girl” singer Gwen Stefani made note that she has retired as a solo singer.
“That was a moment in time,” Stefani said of her solo career. “It went on a little longer than we all thought it would, because it was inspired and you have to go with wherever you’re at in that time in your life… [But] everything works out how it should.”
Thought the singer has been on hiatus for almost four years, her comment will no doubt come as a surprise to many.
Particularly, as it was widely speculated she took time off to rear her children, as well as work on another No Doubt record, before returning with an album of her own.
The world won’t be without its share of Stefani’s voice though, a No Doubt LP is expected by the end of the year.

Will.i.am And Simon Cowell Get Into Heated Argument Over Cheryl Cole
Simon Cowell, last night broke his silence to explain why he killed off Cheryl Cole’s American dream.
The 51-year-old claimed he thought she would be happy to move back to the UK version of The X Factor but admitted he bottled out of telling her.
Instead, he sent X Factor’s executive producer Richard Holloway to deliver the bad news.
Cowell said: “The hardest thing to accept is that everyone has painted me as a monster because I embarrassed her, but the truth was I was protecting her. I just want people to be in the best place at the right time.”
Earlier, bosses confirmed that after failing to respond to their offer to come back, she had been officially replaced on the US panel by ex-Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger – who arrived for an interview in London for the Graham Norton Show.
Cheryl filmed just four episodes of the U.S. version of 'X Factor' last month.

Patti LaBelle Sued Over Bodyguard Beating!
A West Point cadet is suing Patti LaBelle for allegedly having her bodyguards rough him up at a Houston airport terminal.
Richard King, who was visiting his family while on spring break from The Point, was waiting to be picked up when three of LaBelle's bodyguards attacked him. According to the cadet's lawsuit:
"Apparently, defendant LaBelle believed King was standing too close to her (no doubt expensive) luggage, even though he was oblivious to her presence and the danger he was in. LaBelle lowered the window of her limousine and gave a command to her bodyguards. They sprang into action."
Cadet King further alleges that the assault resulted in a "concussion and lingering dizziness and headaches." He is asking for unspecified damages.

Cheryl Cole Seeking U.S. Visa, May Return to 'X Factor'?
It appears that British pop star Cheryl Cole may yet be headed to the U.S.
According to The Hollywood Reporter's industry source, Cole, who was dropped from the U.S. version of the show after four days for reasons that remain unclear, was willing to return to the U.K. version of the show, as Fremantle producers had wished.
But TMZ reports that she was owed $1.5 million in her contract for the U.S. season regardless of whether she appeared on the show, and she wanted to be paid the agreed-upon amount as well as a separate fee for performing in the British show.
The industry source tells THR that Fremantle bristled at this point and the two sides are in a stand off.
To avoid breaching her contract for the U.S. show, Cole will have to seek a visa in the days ahead, return to the U.S. and turn up for "X Factor" tapings.

Chaka Khan Collaborating With Steven Tyler & Akon
Chaka Khan may be a legacy artist in the industry, but that isn't to say the legendary songstress isn't as busy as ever. At the top of her list? A duets album, including a Led Zeppelin cover alongside "American Idol" judge and Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler.
"We literally just clicked," Khan tells Billboard.com of Tyler. "We were at Elton John's party and we got to talk and we both wanted to sing together. We said, 'Let's do a mutual song, by you know, a neutral band -- a band that we both love,' and we both love Zeppelin."
The "I'm Every Woman" singer will record the duet of a yet-to-be-decided Zepplin tune with Tyler soon, which she has plans to release on a forthcoming double album of duets.
And as if that superstar meeting of the musical minds wasn't enough, Khan's got some other tricks up her sleeve -- a potential collaboration with Akon and a jazz-tinged tribute concert dedicated to another superstar, the incomparable Joni Mitchell.

Adele Cancels Remaining U.S. Tour Dates Due To Laryngitis
Adele has scrapped the remaining nine dates of her sold-out North American tour due to laryngitis.
She already had postponed five shows under doctor's orders following her recent diagnosis.
While resting in Los Angeles, she met with an Otolaryngology specialist who determined it was imperative that she take the next few weeks to recover.
"I'm really frustrated. I was hoping with a weeks rest I'd be better to sing again straight away," she said in a statement Friday. "However there is absolutely nothing I can do but take the doctor's advice and rest some more. I'm so sorry. See you soon, love Adele."
She hopes to reschedule the canceled dates, but no firm plans have been set. Guess we'll just have too keep singing "Don't You Remember" to ourselves in the shower for another few months.

Porn Studios Really Want That "J. Lo Video"
Last week, a judge ruled that Jennifer Lopez's ex-husband Ojani Noa is legally allowed to release intimate home videos of her to the public.
Even though Jennifer's legal team had originally won a battle to keep the videos from being release, Ojani found a loophole to win in the end.
Now, porn studios have begun a bidding war for the J.Lo tape, and there are currently bids in the vicinity of $40,000 from YouPorn.com, PornHub.com, and Red Light District.
The bids would be even higher, but apparently there's no actual sex on the tape, which makes them a bit less valuable.
Still must be some steamy footage there, if it's worth $40K. Guess we'll find out more soon.

Rihanna Defends "Man Down" Video
Rihanna is defending her latest music video, which opens with a man being shot in the head.
"Man Down," which premiered Tuesday on BET, is a song about a girl who shoots her abuser in public. The video also portrays sexual assault.
On Tuesday, the Parents Television Council called the clip "disturbing" and asked BET to stop airing it.
Rihanna said the video is "art with a message." She added, "We just wanted to hone in on a very serious matter that people are afraid to address, especially if you've been victimized in this scenario."
BET says it will continue to play the video, explaining that the network "has a comprehensive set of standards and guidelines that are applied to all of our content" and that Rihanna's video "complied with these guidelines and was approved for air."

After Lady Gaga's historic start atop the Billboard 200 chart with 1.11 million sold of her "Born This Way" album, according to Nielsen SoundScan, the diva will most certainly spend a second frame at No. 1 next week.
While it's too early to gauge exactly how many copies "Born This Way" will move in week number two, estimates suggest it could do around 200,000 by week's end on Sunday, June 5.
While that would represent a staggering drop from her No. 1 debut, it's not unusual to see albums that are heavily front-loaded in terms of first-week sales fall off a cliff in their second week.

Did Pink Tweet Clues That She Had Her Baby?
Fans are wondering after P!nk, 31, Tweeted a cryptic message on Wednesday night about it being a good time for new beginnings under an auspicious astrological sky.
"New Moon in Gemini today :) a good time to start something new.... Also called the Honey Moon. #intoit," she wrote.
Her followers were quick to take a hint. "Maybe a good time to have a baby?" wrote one. Another suggested Honey Moon Hart might be a great baby name, if Pink and husband Carey Hart end up having a girl.
Of course, it could just be wishful thinking from a full-term mom-to-be, who looked very pregnant in photos taken over Memorial Day weekend.

Has Cheryl Cole Cuts Ties With Simon Cowell?
After being axed from both the UK and US versions of 'X Factor,' Cheryl Cole has reportedly cut contact with Simon Cowell.
"She was terrified Simon had become her puppet master and she was being turned into his new Sinitta - Simon's little pet. She is determined to carve out a career without him. He'll have to come up with something special for them to even speak again."
Cole, who has been confirmed to not return to the judging panel of the UK version of the competition, is ignoring Cowell's attempts at contacting her.
We're sure she's probably not too happy with the way things have gone, but we would never suggest burning bridges with him all-together.
Cowell was apparently booed by 'Britain's Got Talent' audience members on Monday night over Cole's still-unconfirmed sacking from 'The X Factor' USA.
