Rihanna To Launch Her First Fragrance, Reb’l Fleur

It’s a deal that’s been months in the making, but Rihanna is now officially Hollywood’s newest perfumer with the launch of her debut signature scent, Reb’l Fleur.

“My grandmother in Barbados used to call me her Rebel Flower,” the singer tells PEOPLE of what inspired the fragrance’s name.

And while the name might be the natural choice, deciding on the final mix proved something more of a challenge. “Over the years, I layered many different scents to get something that was truly my own,” she says.

“But I wanted…something that said ‘Rihanna was here.’ Something delicious and special, a fragrance with subtle hints that linger and leave a sexy memory.”

The end result recalls the star’s Caribbean upbringing with ripe fruits and sumptuous florals, as well as a musky mix of vanilla, patchouli and amber. Reb’l Fleur will begin rolling into department stores in February, priced at $49 for a 1.7 oz. bottle.

Céline Dion: Twins Tiring, But an ‘Intense Joy’

Ten weeks after delivering twin boys, Céline Dion says she’s ‘coping day by day’ with sons Nelson and Eddy.

In an interview with French magazine GALA, the singer, 42, explains that she’s thankful for the help she receives from her mother Thérèse and sister Linda, as their presence means she doesn’t have to worry about “housework, cooking or doing the shopping.”

“I didn’t have these children to not take care of them, to give myself to them 200 – 300 percent,” she explains.

“I am changing diapers and breastfeeding and that’s something where no one can take my place. It’s tiring but an intense joy.”

“I take things day by day,” Dion adds. “That’s the secret to me. In any case, breastfeeding is more difficult if you are stressed. Sometimes I find myself in comical situations I don’t know how to get myself out of. For example, when both are feeding and one has gas while the other is burping, I don’t know which position to adopt!”

After delivering the boys on Oct. 23, Dion says she experienced loss of appetite and a change in mood, which others noticed. “Some of the first days after I came home, I was a little outside myself,” the singer notes. “I had no appetite and that bothered me. My mother remarked that she noticed I had moments of lifelessness, but reassured me that this was entirely normal.”

She also experience mood swings, telling the magazine, “One moment, tremendous happiness; the next, fatigue sets in, and I cried for no reason, and then that took care of itself. It’s for things like that after having a baby that mothers really need emotional support.”

Though she will begin lightly rehearsing later this month for her Las Vegas return in March, Dion isn’t putting too much pressure on herself.

“In reality, I’ve had almost no time getting a shower and feeding myself. My preoccupation has been eating sensibly,” she shares. “My only worry has been to be able to open and close [my tops] quickly for breastfeeding. It’s been out of the question to even wear a blouse!”

As for the beauty details, “makeup can wait. There’ll be time for all that,” Dion laughs.

Aretha Franklin: Health Problem "Has Been Resolved"

Aretha Franklin has granted another brief interview about her unspecified illness that required surgery last month, telling JET magazine that the health problem, while still undisclosed, "has been resolved."

"I am not one to do a lot of talking about my personal health or business," says the 68-year-old singer, who won't confirm rumors that she was treated for pancreatic cancer. "I don't have to talk about my health with anybody other than my doctors. The problem has been resolved."

Franklin says that she felt "a very hard pain in my side" during a concert in Toronto last year, and that she believed that the pain had resulted from a recent colonoscopy.

"I got up at 2 o'clock in the morning and called the doctor who did the colonoscopy and told him what was happening," she says.

"He said, 'Miss Franklin, whatever it is, it is not from the colonoscopy. You need to come home and have a CAT-scan.' Thank God he said that because that unfolded everything, what the problem was and everything."

Franklin underwent surgery at a Detroit hospital in early December and was discharged on Dec. 15th. The singer canceled all of her concerts through spring 2011 and was told to rest at home for eight weeks following the surgery.

Cheryl Cole Tells It Like It Is, In Elle Magazine

We think it is safe to say that Cheryl Cole has had better years than 2010.

In the span of 12 months, she dealt with a messy divorce, scrutiny over her decisions on 'X Factor' and a case of malaria.

But, coming into the New Year, Cheryl has confessed to sources that she is going to take things in stride and no longer listen the commentary of others about her life, especially those in the media. She explained to Elle Magazine:

"I have taken so much s**t, I’ve stopped listening to other people. I have had enough. There's only so much you can cope with and then you either allow it to swallow you up or you say, 'Sod this.'

"I have had it with negativity and bitchiness. I want people to like my music but I couldn't give a s**t about what they think of me. Take it or leave it. I do not care."

Katy Perry Wins Big at People's Choice Awards

Britney Spears Inspires 'Country Strong' Character

Gwyneth Paltrow's "Country Strong" character Kelly Canter plays out an all-too-common tale in the music industry: fallen star, substance abuser and rehab graduate hell-bent on a return to their former glory.

In fact, it was only last year that we were celebrating "Crazy Heart," the male version of this drama, with Jeff Bridges in the lead role for which he won an Academy Award.

And while "Country Strong" also looked to Nashville for authenticity, shooting the bulk of the movie in Music City, recruiting established producers like Byron Galimore (Tim McGraw, Sugarland) and Nathan Chapman (Taylor Swift) and working with local musicians and crew, inspiration for the main character came from the pop world. Specifically: Britney Spears and Michael Jackson.

"We build these artists and celebrate them, then at the first sign of weakness, we rally around their downfall," writer-director Shana Feste tells Billboard. "Then we want to build them back up for a comeback. How difficult to live life like that in public."

Feste wrote the bulk of the screenplay in 2008 as Spears was undergoing a series of personal -- and public -- dramas. She was finishing the script when news of Michael Jackson's death broke. "I wanted to present these characters as messy, complicated and conflicted," she said. "Everybody is flawed."

No Doubt Starts Official Recording Sessions for First Album in 10 Years

No Doubt entered the studio Monday (Jan. 3) to begin recording its first album in nearly 10 years, according to updates on the band's official Twitter account.

"Holidays over. 2010 done. 10 new songs written. No Doubt's 2011 New Year's resolution: to record our new album... beginning today!"
wrote guitarist Tom Dumont.

After some confusion on the band's official message board about studio work that took place in 2010, Dumont took to the fan forum to explain further, saying: "We worked (in a little studio) most of last year writing songs. We 'demo' them as we write, which is like making rough draft recordings… Now, starting today, we're back in a real studio really recording again."

In his message board post, Dumont also revealed that there are "two new ND babies coming soon -- mine and Tony's -- so there will be a little delay for that." He added: "The goal is to write a couple songs more this year and of course finish recording all of them."

Discussion of the long-awaited follow-up to 2001's "Rock Steady" has surrounded Gwen Stefani and her bandmates since their successful reunion tour during summer 2009. Last September, bassist Tony Kanal told Billboard.com that he anticipates the band's next tour will be "even bigger, and when I say 'bigger' I mean more shows and around the world."

As one source connected with the threesome put it, "Thank God Jordan is moving out. It was getting really awkward, but Christina was letting Jordan stay for the sake of Max."

After Christina filed for divorce Jordan wouldn't move out of the house, so Christina was staying in various L.A. hotels, but eventually moved back into the family home.

Britney Spears Still Recording New Album

Britney Spears has been recording her seventh studio album for quite a while now, and despite it being due in stores in less than three months, Britney hasn’t quite wrapped things up yet.

In a new interview with Rap-Up, British singer-songwriter Jessie J has revealed that she’s just headed into the studio to write lyrics to a Britney demo she’s been given by the superstar’s team.

“I am going in the studio tomorrow to try and write a song for Britney,” Jessie tells Rap-Up.com via phone from her native London. “I was sent a backing track for her album and they specifically asked me to write on it, so I’m going to go in the studio on my night off.”

While she is unable to reveal the track’s producer, she did rule out hit maker Dr. Luke, adding, “It’s not who people expect it to be. It’s good, it’s very good.”

“I’m hoping that I’ll be able to crack it,” she says. “It’s a very U.K. kinda sound, which is why I think they want me to write it. I’m gonna put a little Jessie J spin on it and get Britney singing about grabbing her crotch. You never know.”

Practically everyone went gaga for Lady Gaga last year.

How do we know? Well, it's all in the magazine sales numbers.

According to Women's Wear Daily, nearly 250,000 copies of Rolling Stone's summer special featuring a gun-toting Gaga were sold. That's more than three times the mag's monthly average and by far its top seller of 2010.

The Lady's Cosmopolitan cover was the fashion glossy's best-selling issue of the year, too, while her Vanity Fair and Elle covers ranked in the top three.

So which star's newsstand numbers were the worst?

Poor Taylor Swift!

Readers just weren't that into the country cutie—her Elle cover was the worst performer of the year through October, and her Glamour and Marie Claire covers tanked, too, ranking as the second- and third-lowest-selling issues of the year, respectively.

Rihanna's 'Loud' Hits No. 1 on U.K. Album Chart

Rihanna's "Loud" album (Def Jam/Universal) achieved its first week at No. 1 on the U.K.'s first sales charts of 2011, as Matt Cardle's "When We Collide" (Syco Music/Sony Music Entertainment) began a third week atop the singles survey.

There was more good news for Rihanna as Cardle's single narrowly failed to overtake Eminem's "Love The Way You Lie" (Interscope/Universal), on which she is featured, as the territory's best-selling single of 2010.

"Loud" debuted at No. 2 in late November and had climbed back there to spend the last two weeks in runner-up spot, but finally reached the summit to end the six-week reign of Take That's "Progress" (Polydor/Universal).
