Mariah Carey Covers U.K.'s Candis Magazine

Mariah Carey is talking Christmas. "It's my favourite season!" she beams happily, faashing her radiant smile around the lobby of a stunning hotel deep in the fashionable SoHo district of New York.

"Seriously, you're talking to Little Miss Christmas here. What I love to do is to bring everyone – friends, family, extended family, everyone – to my house in Aspen, where we hire Santa Claus to come round with a real reindeer that look like they're going to fly off into the snow at any moment.

"It's totally over the top and beyond festive, and I just love it. When I was a kid, I'd spend the whole of winter thinking 'I really hope it snows,' because without snow, Christmas just doesn't feel right to me."

Not so surprising then that Mariah has taken inspiration for her brand new album of festive songs, Merry Christmas II You, from classics such as White Christmas. Yet her genuine enthusiasm is infectious, her eyes lighting up as she talks about how and why she's put this special album together.

"After the success of All I Want For Christmas Is You back in 1994, I wanted to give this new album a timeless quality. To give it a retro feel with a modern twist. I've included traditional Christmas songs like The First Noel and O Come All Ye Faithful, but written new songs too. "Oh Santa" has a very 60s retro vibe going on, while Christmas Time Is In The Air Again has a cosy 50s feel."

Alicia Keys & Lady Gaga Revived From 'Dead' After Charity Raises $1 Million

It took longer than many thought and comedians had a laugh at their expense but singer Alicia Keys and her celebrity friends raised $1 million for an AIDS charity and, with it, lived to tweet again.

Keys and her Keep a Child Alive charity co-founder Leigh Blake on Monday said their widely-followed "digital death" campaign reached its $1 million goal after pharmaceutical entrepreneur Stewart Rahr pitched in $500,000.

At stake, along with raising funds to help millions of children and families living with AIDs in Africa and India, were the digital lives of celebrities who vowed to stay off social networking websites Twitter and Facebook until the $1 million was raised.

The celebrities included Justin Timberlake, Ryan Seacrest, Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian and Usher. Their campaign launched on World AIDS Day, December 1, amid great fan fare with the expectation it would quickly reach its goal.

After all, the celebrities all have millions of fans. Lady Gaga boasts 7.3 million followers on Twitter, alone. Justin Timberlake has 3.6 million, and Seacrest has 3.7 million.

Beyonce’s New 'Heat Rush' Fragnance

A big part of Beyonce's success comes from her close attention to detail, noted Mormoris. “She approaches creating a fragrance like writing a song,” he said.

As for age targets, Marsha Brooks, vice president of global marketing, fragrances, for Coty Beauty, noted Knowles’ first scent, Heat, has had a multigenerational response.

“We know going in [to the launch of Heat Rush] that Beyoncé has huge appeal to women 18 to 24 years old, but we expect it to be bought by both younger and older women,” she said, noting that women from 15 to 35 are expected to buy the fragrance. “This is a young, fresh, less-serious scent.”

The scent, by Firmenich’s Honorine Blanc, has top notes of passion fruit sorbet, blood orange and Brazilian cherry; a heart of yellow tiger orchid, mango blossom and orange hibiscus, and a drydown of teak wood, honey amber and Rio sunset musk.

Eaux de toilette in four sizes will be sold: 0.5 oz. for $24, 1 oz. for $39, 1.7 oz. for $49 and 3.4 oz. for $59. Two ancillaries will also be produced: a 6.7 oz. shimmering body cream, $24, and a 6.7 oz. shower gel, also $24.

Britney Spears Brings British Beats To New Album

With Britney Spears’ seventh studio album only a few months away now, more and more details on the project are beginning to surface.

British producer Rusko, who has already been confirmed to work on the project, has teamed up with British singer-songwriter Jessie J to craft a hit for the Toxic singer.

“I received the beat to work with and it’s amazing,” Jessie told The Sun last week. “It’s pretty cool. I don’t think it will be what people expect. It’s more British than you would expect but with the Britney swag. People will be surprised. It could be the most amazing thing I’ve done.”

Rusko also elaborated on one of the tunes he worked with Jessie on.

“It’s a bit random, but I’m so excited by the challenge. One track turned out amazing. It’s proper hard dubstep.”

Mariah Carey Performs At Walt Disney World

The last time Mariah Carey performed at the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade in Orlando, she wore a skintight miniskirt that accentuated every curve.

But that was in 2005. On Friday, Carey returned to the Magic Kingdom – but this time, she was a little more covered up. The singer, who is expecting her first child in the spring, was wearing a short but baggy Santa skirt.

"You could really see the pronounced belly," says an onlooker. "She's definitely not hiding it."

Although her wardrobe has changed, sources say Carey, 41, had boundless energy during her performance – which will be telecast Christmas morning on ABC.

The star entered the stage from an oversized Christmas card as she performed "Oh Santa." Then came a quick costume change and a return to the stage to sing "All I Want for Christmas is You."

Despite her growing midsection, Carey even hoofed it with some dancers from the Orlando Ballet. "She was really energetic," says a backstage source. "She had definite ideas about what she wanted onstage, and she was working really hard."

But it wasn't all work and no play. Dancers from the Orlando Ballet posed for pictures and got autographs from Carey. "She wasn't really talkative or anything, but she was really pleasant," says one of the dancers. "She's a real pro."

Britney Spears & Jason Trawick Enjoy Romantic Mexican Getaway

Britney Spears celebrated a very happy long birthday weekend with boyfriend Jason Trawick during a romantic trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

"When they landed, she got to the [private] villa and was blown away," a source tells PEOPLE of the couple, who arrived on Dec. 2, Spears's 29th birthday. "Jason had arranged a red velvet cake for her birthday."

Last week, Spears's camp denied a tabloid report that Trawick "beat on" the pop star. And their intimate getaway, which included a private chef and a fridge stocked with fresh fruit, seemed to prove their point.

"They suntanned and did a lot of relaxing and decompressing," says the source. "They seemed very much in love."

Indeed, a source close to Spears told PEOPLE last week that "the couple's relationship is better [than ever]. Britney and Jason lately have been very happy together."

Katy Perry Leads All-Star Cast At 'VH1 Divas Salute The Troops'

Katy Perry met dozens of service members while working on the special "VH1 Divas Salute the Troops" this weekend near San Diego.

"There was a kid who I met backstage who was rather chatty, but adorable," Perry recalled. "He was really sweet. He was 19. He had such a good heart. He said, 'Yes, ma'am' to me. 'Yes ma'am!' I was like, 'O.K.! Yes, sir!'"

A VH1 publicist estimated an audience of 27,000 attended the nearly three-hour taping of the concert Friday night at the Marine Corps Air Station in Miramar.

The show, which airs Sunday night (Nov. 5), features a bounty of what the network has dubbed "DIVAS" - female or female-lead musical acts, including established stars such as Heart, Paramore and Sugarland, as well as hot newcomers Grace Potter and The Nocturnals, Keri Hilson and Nicki Minaj.

But if one DIVA emerged supreme, it was Perry, who both opened and closed the show, and performed solo or with others on a half-dozen songs -- twice that of anyone else in the lineup.

Rapper Rye Rye Is Ready To 'Go! Pop! Bang!' With Debut

Nineteen-year-old Rye Rye made a splash as M.I.A.'s protégée in 2007, accompanying her on tour when she was still in high school. But her music is all her own, fed as much by the Baltimore clubs where she used to dance as by the big names who helped her make it.

She was hyped as the next big thing, but then Rye Rye (real name: Ryeisha Berrain) was forced to drop off a tour with A-Trak because she was pregnant; her daughter, Kennidi Malaysia Battle, was born in September 2009.

In the meantime, her mentor lost credibility -- and, subsequently, much of her tastemaker status -- in the wake of a damaging New York Times Magazine article.

Despite all this, Rye Rye has persevered, and N.E.E.T./Interscope will release her long-awaited debut, "Go! Pop! Bang!," on Jan. 11th.

You were a dancer before you started making your own music. How did that shape the direction you went in musically?

Me being a dancer, it gave me a taste for music. I love dancing, that's what I'm built around, so I was aiming to make music to make people dance.

M.I.A. has been a mentor to you. She signed you to her N.E.E.T. label and has supported your work. Did it help to be mentored by a woman?

Yes, because my music is different -- it's not the typical hip-hop and R&B, and M.I.A. was the same way. She stepped up out of the box to try different things. I had support from her; it was great to have her backing me.

When she brought me along, her fan base rubbed off on me as well. We weren't afraid to be different. As a brand-new artist, I knew nothing about the industry, I was just trying it out. Working with her pushed me to go forward with it.

What do you think of the way she's been treated lately?

Honestly, when all that stuff was going on, I never read it. People would ask me about it. I know she was supposed to be upset about it. But the media is the media -- sometimes they twist things up. I would tell her that it's nothing to worry about.

Days after she underwent surgery, Aretha Franklin got a special visitor: Rev. Jesse Jackson.

Jackson told The Detroit News that the singer is "recovering" and in high spirits. He did not say what Franklin, 68, is ailing from.

"She's doing very well. She's very prayerful. She's a woman full of deep religious faith," he added.

Although her rep has not revealed what kind of surgery Franklin had, the procedure has been described as "highly successful."

"I had superb doctors and nurses whom were blessed by all the prayers of the city and the country," the singer said on Thursday.

Fergie Q&A: Billboard's Woman of the Year 2010

By the time she turned 27, Stacy Ann Ferguson had spent two years as the voice of Sally in animated "Peanuts" features, six years belting out perky, inspirational covers on the children's TV show "Kids Incorporated," 10 years chasing fame as a bottle blonde in the R&B girl group Wild Orchid.

So when Ferguson--now 35 and better-known as the Black Eyed Peas starlet Fergie--gushes that she's "humbled to accept the Billboard Woman of the Year Award," only the most hardened of critics wouldn't take her at her word.

First off, congratulations on being named Billboard's Woman of the Year.

Thank you. It's such an honor for me, I'm humbled.

You're in Brazil right now, correct?

Yes, the Peas are on tour in Brazil. We're doing nine dates here, which I think is the most any American artist has done. My husband [actor Josh Duhamel] is actually here with me. He came out for a week. We had a big Halloween party last night.

What'd you dress up as?

I didn't dress up. I dress up every night in costume, so last night I just threw on a skeleton mask.

Did Josh dress up?

Josh dressed as Taboo. Josh actually won the costume contest. I'm not kidding you, he was Taboo. It was hilarious.

Was Taboo OK with that?

Taboo dressed him. He gave him the costume!

How do the Peas get around Brazil?

This tour is all flights. But I have a tour bus when we're in the U.S.

Gaga, Ke$ha & Kelly Clarkson Songs Allegedly Stolen By German Hackers

Two young German computer hackers allegedly stole pop songs from Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Ke$ha and Kelly Clarkson, selling them online and forcing the advanced release of several singles, officials said Friday.

An 18-year-old high school student from Duisburg, and his alleged accomplice, a 23-year-old unemployed man from Wesel, are under investigation for using a Trojan Horse to hack into the artists' computers for about 12 months before being discovered, Duisburg chief prosecutor Rolf Haferkamp told The Associated Press.

During that time, they earned more than (EURO)10,000 ($13,240) in illegal sales of tracks acquired from the stars' computers. Haferkamp would not comment on specific songs that were stolen.

Both men live with their parents in the western German cities, which are about 20 miles (30 kilometers) apart.

Reached at his home the 18-year-old, an amateur disc jockey known as "DJ Stolen" whose name has been reported in the German media as Deniz A., told the AP he had been out of touch with his alleged accomplice, Christian M.

"I haven't heard from him for a while," he said.

He refused to comment on the case or give any further details, saying his attorney had told him not to speak with the media. His attorney was out of the office and could not immediately be reached.

According to local media reports the two had attached the Trojan to an MP3 file that was then sent to the official addresses of the stars, their managers and their record companies.

Deniz A. also allegedly downloaded a sexually compromising photo of one artist and used it to blackmail her. Haferkamp would not comment on which artist it was.

Before he was reached by the AP, Germany's top-selling Bild newspaper quoted Deniz A. as saying he didn't mean to do any harm.

"I'm a fan and I just wanted to have cool music," he was quoted by the newspaper as saying. "I'm no blackmailer."

Haferkamp said the police were informed of the hacking after a fan of Kelly Clarkson alerted her management that unreleased songs of the singer were being sold online.

A Duisburg police spokesman, speaking on departmental condition of anonymity, said that the two had been under investigation for "several months" and that authorities had a 1,000-page file on them.

Haferkamp said the investigation should be concluded by January and can lead to criminal charges. If convicted, they could be sentenced to up to five years in prison or face stiff fines for damages.

Clarkson and Ke$ha are represented by RCA, and Timberlake is represented by Jive, both subsidiaries of Sony. Sony Germany had no immediate comment.

Lady Gaga is represented by Universal Music. Her manager in Germany did not immediately return requests for comment.

Britney Spears' New Album Coming in March 2011

Britney Spears celebrated her 29th birthday today (Dec. 2) with a big announcement: Her seventh album is nearly complete and will see a March 2011 release date.

Fans were on the lookout for a big announcement from the singer Thursday (Dec. 2) afternoon, after Spears' manager, Adam Leber, said via Twitter and Facebook that "the announcement you've all been waiting for is coming today."

Spears did not disappoint, tweeting approximately an hour later: "My fans mean the world to me & waking up to all of your wishes really made me smile, so here's something that I hope will make you smile... I'm almost done with my new album and it will be coming out this March. I AM IN L-O-V-E WITH IT!"

The album reunites Spears with two of pop music's biggest producers and songwriters, Max Martin and Dr. Luke.

Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald said in late October that though he had not started work on the album at the time, he "wants [the sound] to get harder in some ways, and maybe a little more deep into electronic -- grimier."

Rihanna Leads Billboard’s New ‘Social 50′ Chart

Billboard is keeping up with the times today, launching a brand new chart titled ‘Social 50,′ which ranks stars’ social networking standing on the web to determine who is the most popular each week.

Topping the debut week of the Social 50 is Rihanna, who pretty much seems to be just about everywhere these days.

Trailing RiRi are Justin Bieber, Eminem, Lady Gaga, and finally Nicki Minaj who rounds out the top five, with The Black Eyed Peas, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Linkin Park and Shakira making up the rest of the top ten.

To come up with the rankings, a formula takes into account weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with weekly artist page views and weekly song plays on MySpace, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and iLike.

Friends/fans behavior takes precedence, followed by artist page views and song plays. The final ranking also includes a unique metric measuring the ratio of page views to fans.

Christina Aguilera: Why I Filed for Divorce

Christina Aguilera remembers vividly how she felt as she signed the papers in her divorce from music exec Jordan Bratman.

"Things were so unhealthy and unhappy for both Jordan and me, I knew I had to end it," the Burlesque star, 29, tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview. "I really didn't want to hurt Jordan, and I felt torn about splitting our family up."

The decision to end her marriage of five years was not easy for Aguilera, but she strongly felt she had to do what she thought best for her and Jordan's 2½-year-old son.

"When you're unhappy in your marriage, your children are the ones who suffer," says the Grammy-winning pop singer, whose own parents' tumultuous relationship led to divorce when she was 7. "That's the last thing I wanted for my son."

Since filing for divorce, Aguilera has been out in Los Angeles and New York City with a new man, Matthew Rutler, a set assistant on Burlesque.

"He's the kind of person you could spend hours with on the phone talking to and all of a sudden it's daylight," she says.

Tina Turner Moves 'Beyond' Rock Stardom With Spiritual Music

After taking part in her first spiritual album "Beyond," a collection of Buddhist and Christian prayer and chanting that came out in September, Tina Turner predicts she'll be exploring that path more.

"I wouldn't say no [to it]," she tells Billboard.com, but adds, "I believe that it is my future, and I am waiting for that. I enjoy these projects, but it just brings me into a position, into the limelight, and I don't want that for the moment. I will choose very carefully."

Turner, 71, was approached to be part of "Beyond" by Regula Curti, a music and art therapist and singing teacher based in Zurich, Switzerland.

Curti was already working with Tibetan mantra singer Dechan Shak-Dagsay on the project, which was "conceptually already finished" by the time Turner, who also resides in Switzerland, got involved.

"I was always told that a spiritual project will come one day," says Turner, who was introduced to Buddhism and chanting in 1971 and converted in 1974.

"So I answered to Regula, 'I waited so long for that moment and that was the moment.' So I happily accepted...The experience of singing prayers together allows us to deeply connect on a emotional level -- a place of love and respect where worldly differences fade."

Fergie, Jazmine Sullivan, Lea Michele Honored At Billboard's Women In Music

Billboard's Women In Music luncheon took place today (Dec. 2) at New York's The Pierre Hotel, and Fergie, who was honored as the 2010 Woman of The Year, said it best when describing all the powerful women in the room.

"Congratulations to all the women of the year. I'm so humbled to be in a category with so many strong females in the business," Fergie, who was accompanied by her husband, actor Josh Duhamel, said in excitement. "For what used to be just a boys' club, us bitches are coming up."

Fergie, who was interviewed by Ann Curry of NBC's "Today" show, wasn't the only winner in the room. Billboard's first Triple Threat honoree, "Glee'"s Lea Michele, as well as the 2010 Rising Star, Jazmine Sullivan, who performed for the room, were also in attendance.

The event kicked off with Michele being interviewed by Billboard's Senior Editor, Ann Donahue, as the attendees, which included Universal's Sylvia Rhone, BET's Debra Lee, Atlantic's Julie Greenwald and Mike Kyser, former N'SYNC member Lance Bass and Black Eyed Peas members Taboo and Apl.de.ap, looked on over lunch.

"I didn't know until the first time I performed on stage on Broadway at the age of eight," Michele said when asked when she realized she wanted to be a performer. "I was eight and my best friend was going on an audition for a Broadway show, so I tagged along and I got the part. A few weeks later I was performing on Broadway and since then, I told my parents that night that I wanted to keep doing this."

Next Steve Madden introduced Rising Star Jazmine Sullivan, who provided the event's main entertainment. "Thank you so much for this award," the R&B powerhouse said to the crowd, sending a special thank-you to her grandparents, who were in the audience. "They believed I was a rising star before anyone knew my name, so, I am appreciative of them," Sullivan added.
