Will Britney Spears Appear on Her Glee Episode?
Glee‘s upcoming Britney Spears tribute episode may have been the pop star’s own idea — but don’t count on her to make a cameo.“Britney’s not in it,” Jane Lynch told reporters today at her wax figure unveiling at Madame Tussaud’s in Hollywood. “It’s a tribute to her music.”
Even though Spears herself will be absent from the episode, Lynch promises that tales from entertainer’s real life will be tied into the show’s storyline.
“It’s kind of [about] how Matt [Morrisson]‘s character Mr. Schuster doesn’t see any value in her and the kids really do,” she says. “And at the end [of the episode], he comes around and he likes [her music] so much, he shaves his head.”
Speaking of Spears, her long-ago ex Justin Timberlake has been rumored to appear on the musical series also. But it doesn’t sound like any plans are actively in the works to make that a reality.
“I love him,” the show’s co-creator Ryan Murphy told reporters last week at TCA. “But I think somebody just said, ‘Do you want him?’ And I think Lea [Michele] said, ‘He’s my favorite,’ and then suddenly it was that he was on the show.”
As for other rumored A-list guest stars, remember when Murphy hinted a while back that Jennifer Lopez may come on the show to play a lunch lady? Well, that may not be happening either. “Yes, I’d love for her to do it,” he says. “[But] I don’t know if this American Idol thing is happening and if she can.”

Taylor Swift's 'Mine' Starts Strong At Radio
Upon its release, radio is claiming Taylor Swift's "Mine" as its own.Rushed to iTunes Wednesday (Aug. 4), "Mine," the first single from Swift's forthcoming album "Speak Now," registered 321 plays on 134 pop and country stations in its first day of availability, according to Nielsen BDS. The spins translated to an audience of 3.1 million listeners.
Country KFRG (K-FROG)/Riverside, Calif. led all stations with 10 plays Wednesday. KHOP (@95-1)/Modesto, Calif. topped all pop outlets with nine first-day plays, followed at the format by KIIS (102.7)/Los Angeles with eight plays.
Second-day airplay swelled yesterday, with "Mine" logging 522 plays on 180 pop and country stations and 5.4 million audience impressions.
After two days at radio, "Mine" is already the week's 26th-most-heard title on the Country Songs building chart and No. 44 on the all-format Radio Songs building survey. (The weekly Country Songs chart reflects airplay Monday through Sunday. Radio Songs runs on a Wednesday through Tuesday tracking week).
"We instantly got it and started playing it every hour," says KIIS assistant program director/music director Julie Pilat of "Mine."

Teairra Mari ‘Sincerely Yours’ EP Cover & Tracklisting
Teairra Mari's label, Warner, have confirmed that the singer is to release both a mixtape and an EP titled ‘Sincerely Yours’ - the cover of which was unveiled today.The digital-only release (which hits online outlets on August 17th) features a mixture of previously ‘leaked’ material from Mari’s now-scrapped ‘At That Point’ LP, and unheard songs too.

Which DIVA Will Have Their Own 'Glee' Episode Next?
At Comic-Con and during Monday's TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour, Glee creator/executive producer Ryan Murphy and co. Noted that the big post-Super Bowl episode of Glee (airing Feb. 6, 2011) will feature a tribute to a major pop artist, but they did not say who because negotiations are ongoing.
So who could it be? Beyonce, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, or Jennifer Lopez?
Beyonce: As the "Single Ladies" homages have proven, "Glee" loves Sasha Fierce. And she certainly qualifies as a major pop star. Also worth noting: while Ms. Knowles has performed the national anthem at a Super Bowl, she has yet to headline a halftime show. And I have to think that whoever winds up singing during the big game break may be the same person who gets top-tribute billing on "Glee."
Janet Jackson: Remember what I just said about the person who sings at halftime definitely being the subject of the "Glee" tribute show? Here's one scenario where that wouldn't be the case. But Jackson would make a pretty delicious choice, given her breast-baring role in the most controversial Super Bowl performance of all time, not to mention her status as pop royalty. In its own, show-tuney way, "Glee" is a show that relishes the opportunity to stick its out-and-proud thumb in the eye of authority. And what better way to do that than by putting Miss Jackson front and center? Added bonus: the entire cast could dress in military-style garb and do a "Rhythm Nation." Even better: Kurt could do a cover of "Nasty."
Mariah Carey: The best thing about a Carey tribute is the potential for a hit-the-high-note contest between Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, frequent guest star Kristen Chenoweth, and Carey. Some people will be putting money on the big game that Sunday; if this circumstance comes to pass, the "Gleeks" would all be betting on which of these vocalists is most likely to break glass.
Jennifer Lopez: If J. Lo is confirmed as an "American Idol" judge, consider this possibility all the more likely. The Super Bowl episode will air Feb. 6, 2011, most likely a few weeks after "Idol's" new season begins. Putting her on "Glee" is a cross-marketing opportunity Fox -- not to mention Lopez -- probably would not want to pass up.

Katy Perry Takes A Punch At Lady Gaga
In the latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine, the 25 year old took specific aim at Lady Gaga’s use of shock tactics and religion.Raised in a devout Christian household (by Pastor parents), Perry admits in the feature to being somewhat of a contradiction, due to her own racy lyrics and image. However, she goes on to say:
“I am sensitive to Russell [Brand, her fiance] taking the Lord’s name in vain and to Lady Gaga putting a rosary in her mouth. I think when you put sex and spirituality in the same bottle and shake it up, bad things happen.”
Again acknowledging her own shortcomings (and taking a pop at GaGa), Perry tells the magazine:
“Yes, I said I kissed a girl, but I didn’t say I kissed a girl while f***ing a crucifix.”
This marks the second time the "California Gurls" singer has hit out at Gaga. In June, immediately following the premiere of Gaga’s controversial "Alejandro" video, Perry tweeted:
“blasphemy as entertainment is as cheap as a comedian telling a fart joke.”

Eminem And Rihanna Still Atop Billboards Hot 100
While Eminem loses his grip of the No. 1 slot on the Billboard 200, his "Love the Way You Lie," featuring Rihanna, crowns the Hot 100 chart for a third straight week. The song claims the Airplay Gainer trophy for a fifth straight frame and leaps 5-2 on Radio Songs (up 15% to 134.2 million listener impressions, according to Nielsen BDS), where it will most likely overtake Katy Perry's "California Gurls" for the top spot next week.
On Digital Songs, "Lie" stands at No. 1 for a sixth week with downloads decreasing by 9.6% to 300,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Katy Perry's former No. 1, "California Gurls," remains at No. 2 on the Hot 100 and is joined in the top 10 by follow-up single "Teenage Dream," which soars 20-7 as the chart's Digital Gainer.
Download sales increase by 119% to 183,000 (11-4 on Digital Songs), while radio audience nearly doubles as well (up 97%) as song jumps 75-39 on Radio Songs with 29.5 million impressions.

British Singer Lily Allen Is Pregnant
Lily Allen has new reason to "Smile" – she and her boyfriend are to become parents, PEOPLE has confirmed."Lily Allen and Sam Cooper are very happy to confirm that Lily is expecting their first child," her rep said in a statement to PEOPLE. "Lily's professional commitments will carry on as normal, including a scheduled performance at the Big Chill this weekend."
The British singer, 25, and Cooper, 32, her boyfriend of one year (he is the owner of an upscale building company), have been letting friends and family in on their joy.
Allen told Britain's Sun on Thursday that she is "delighted."
All told, this is a momentous month for Allen. She is also set to unveil her new clothing line, Lucy In Disguise, with her sister Sarah Owen at the Vintage Goodwood Festival on Aug. 13.

Taylor Swift's "Mine" Single Leaks
Taylor Swift's new single "Mine" has officially been released to radio and iTunes after the song leaked online Wednesday (Aug. 4). Originally slated for an Aug. 16 premiere, "Mine" is now poised for a big debut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart next week."I was a flight risk with a fear of fallin'/Wonderin' why we bother with love if it never lasts," a jaded Swift sings on the opening verse of the guitar-driven country track and lead single from her upcoming album, "Speak Now."
On the chorus, Swift recalls the moment she fell for the object of her affection. "Do you remember we were sittin' there, by the water?/You put your arm around me for the first time/You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter/You are the best thing that's ever been mine."
Swift will perform "Mine" Sept. 1 on the ABC special "CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock."

Jennifer Hudson: "I Don’t Want To Lose Any More Weight"
Jennifer Hudson has experienced a long list of firsts this past year, from having a baby and planning a wedding to tackling a meaty new role, but none have been quite as shocking as her total body transformation. After dropping from a size 16 to a 6, the fall cover girl tells InStyle Makeover that she sometimes has to do a double take when she sees herself in photos.
“I’m like, ‘Wow! This is what I look like?’” says the new mom, who slimmed down with 5-day-a-week workouts with celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak and following Weight Watchers, which she is now the spokesperson for.
“It’s not a diet, it’s really a way of living that teaches you better skills,” says Hudson, who admits to faltering on stricter eating plans. “For years I felt like I could never have ice cream, but I can eat ice cream occasionally now!”
And with her sleek new look, the star has also developed an entirely different type of appetite—for clothes! “I have a serious shopping problem now,” Jennifer confesses. “Each city we go to, my suitcase won’t hold my new clothes so we have to box them up and ship them home.”

Aretha Franklin Cancels Brooklyn Shows After Fall Causes Broken Ribs
Aretha Franklin says she's recovering from a fall and will miss two free concerts in New York.Franklin's office says the Queen of Soul broke ribs and has abdominal pain from Sunday's fall. Franklin says her doctors advised her to undergo tests.
She says efforts are under way to reschedule the canceled concerts for late August.
In a statement, Franklin said she was "very much looking forward to being in Brooklyn and having a foot-long hot dog at Coney Island."
The concerts were set for Monday and Aug. 12.
Franklin also was to perform at an Aug. 11 birthday party for U.S. Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y.

Nicki Minaj Announces Album Title
With Nicki Minaj’s debut album standing as one the year’s most anticipated, it was not surprising to see the fanfare surrounding her grand announcement of the albums title last night on Ustream.Speaking in her now-trademark British accent, Minaj said:
“To carry on a great tradition of Black Friday, we are going to switch it up this year in honor of the Nicki Minaj album and call that day Pink Friday, and call my album ‘Pink Friday’."
The 27 year old then signed off with:

Rihanna Snores Here Way Through 6 Hour Flight
An American Airlines flight left Miami yesterday westbound for Los Angeles. One of the many passengers sitting in first class was Rihanna, who was heading back home after some much needed fun times in South Beach.
Sources had spotted her partying it up after her concert at the Cameo nightclub until 4 a.m… and her plane was scheduled for 8:30 a.m.
She was able to board the plane first with her bodyguard and by the time the plane was about to take off, RiRi was snoozing. By the time they were in the air, she was SNORING… LOUD!
Needless to say, the 21 other first class passengers were not so happy!

Lady Gaga Earns Record 13 MTV VMA Nominations
Lady Gaga has earned a record-breaking 13 MTV VMA nominations, the network announced today (Aug. 3). The pop star's "Bad Romance" video is up for Video of the Year, Best Pop Video, Best Female Video and Best Dance Video, among other categories.Gaga's toughest competition? Possibly herself. "Bad Romance" and "Telephone" are both in the running for best choreography and video of the year.
"I'm so honored for all the little monsters and self-professed freaks of the universe, to have more VMA nominations in a single year than any artist in MTV history," said Gaga in a statement. "Ironically, I'm even more proud it's an unlucky number; 13.

Jennifer Lopez is living as big and fabulous a life as ever—she’s just not letting the paparazzi watch. With a new record about to debut, she opened up to Glamour about motherhood, marriage and the sexy style she shows off here.GLAMOUR: So how much of this photo shoot is really like your life?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: I like to maintain a certain sense of fantasy in my life. I am kind of like that at home. Do I have the full hair and makeup? No. But I might have the nice dress on.
GLAMOUR: And is Chinese takeout a staple in your home?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: Marc actually loves Chinese a little too much. He’ll say, “I’m really in the mood for Chinese.” I’m like, “Again?”
GLAMOUR: Do both of you like to cook?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: Marc doesn’t cook, but he will prepare an occasional turkey. I like to cook Puerto Rican food. That’s what I grew up on: rice, beans, meat, some Italian-American food. I know my way around the kitchen. We enjoy having that normalcy, because we don’t have that much of it. We really are a traveling gypsy family.
GLAMOUR: I feel like the public has a good idea of who you are, but do you think that the public knows Marc?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: Probably not as much. He’s concentrated on not being out there as much.
GLAMOUR: Has he made you more private? Or do you make him more open?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: I think both. I think that’s what a partnership is—you take the positives from both people and incorporate them. He helped me learn that there was a way to have more privacy and more stability in my life.
GLAMOUR: Does this year feel like a return to the public?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: It does. It’s funny—I don’t feel like I’ve been anywhere, except kind of on maternity leave. It’s been great, and I definitely feel renewed vigor for my career.
GLAMOUR: Did you plan on two years at home?
JENNIFER LOPEZ: I didn’t. In my mind I first felt like, Oh, I’ll be back to work right after the babies are born. But then you don’t want to. Even now, it’s very difficult for me to leave them in the morning. It just tortures me. I’m like, It’s been hours; are they wondering where I am? Do they know that I love them so much and I’m thinking only about them?

Brandy & Ray J Prepare Joint Album
R&B siblings Brandy and Ray J have mentioned their desire to release a collaborative album in the near future and now it appears it will finally come true later this year.“Even though the business is difficult and challenging, we can do a lot of non-traditional and traditional marketing,” Jason said. “And the blending of those things will make us successful where others are struggling.”
Slated for a fourth-quarter release, the Brandy and Ray J project will be a family-oriented album inspired by the siblings’ popular VH1 reality show, “Brandy & Ray J: A Family Business,” which will start its second season September 19.
It features performances by various members of the Norwood family, including Brandy, Ray J, father/musician Willie Sr. and manager/mom Sonja.
“The VH1 show gave us a platform to broaden our family brand,” Ray J said, “and now this Time-Life project opens up more doors.”
Footage shot during the family’s recording sessions will appear in the next season of the VH1 show because, Brandy said, “fans want to see us back in the studio.”

Lady Gaga Admits To Still Using Cocaine
In what looks to be the first major controversy Lady Gaga has found herself in, the 24 year old superstar has admitted to Vanity Fair magazine that she uses Cocaine.In the cover story for Vanity Fair's September issue, Lady Gaga admits that she occasionally does cocaine.
The singer says that she uses the drug "a couple of times a year" but doesn't condone drug use to her fans because it has "led to disaster" for her in the past.
Gaga also tells her interviewer that she avoids having sex for fear of losing her creative drive. "I have this weird thing that if I sleep with someone they're going to take my creativity from me through my vagina," she explains.

New Music From Britney Spears Coming Very Soon!
Producer Rodney 'Darkchild' Jerkins has just hinted in a Ustream session held over the weekend that the pop star will release a new material in the near future, saying "Britney Spears fans are gonna be so happy in few weeks."Indeed fans have been wondering when the singer would drop her new song because she has been publishing photos of studio sessions but no word yet on any progress. It has been almost two years since she released "Circus" and more than six months since it was rumored that she would release a single on top of an album.
Previously, Danja who is working with Spears in this project said, "We can start one way and end up a totally different way, I really don't know." He added that there would be "hard-hitting, uptempo, high-energy" songs in the album.
Additionally reggae artist Predator Dub Assassins confirmed via Twitter, "Co -Writing on a track for Britney Spears ft Akon. WTF ?! What is gonna happen next?" Another mentioned collaborator is David Guetta.
