Janet Jackson Done Making Albums?!?!

In a recent interview with VIBE, Janet Jackson’s producer, friend and former lover, Jermaine Dupri confirmed that Janet is not working on an album, revealing that the she may be done recording albums altogether. Check out what he had to say below:

VIBE: Will you be involved in Janet Jackson’s next project?

Dupri: I can tell you that she’s not working on an album. We just did the one song (“Nothing”) for the Why Did I Get Married Too soundtrack, which was released off of So So Def.

Last time I heard she really didn’t want to do an album. She wanted to just do singles every once in a while. She’s looked at the marketplace—albums are not really doing what they usually do when you put all this budget out there. Janet is just trying to figure out her landscape.

She’s cool (though). She has a lot of work going on that’s keeping her in the right direction. The movie came out, which is the biggest Tyler Perry movie he has had thus far. It looks like her star power as an actress is still there. And she’s about to do the other movie (For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf) with Mariah Carey, Kerry Washington, Whoopi Goldberg and few others.

Madonna Journals Yanked From Online eBay Auction

The mystery man behind the auction who claims he obtained the tweleve journals and other Madonna memorabilia in a blind auction told TMZ, eBay removed his listing around 10AM Monday morning.

He was told a rep for the singer was able to convince eBay that "they" were the rightful owners.

A rep from eBay confirmed they did receive a claim from Madonna's camp and have since pulled the auction from their site.

As for the seller, he's still adamant that the stuff belongs to him. He's also pissed because he's expecting to rake in at least $2.5 million from the sale.

So far, no comment from Madonna's camp.

Jennifer Lopez Talks About Famous Ex-Boyfriends

Their own film collaboration on Gigli didn't go so well, but Jennifer Lopez is open to the idea of catching a film starring ex-boyfriend Ben Affleck.

"Would I see a movie of Ben's? Sure! Why not?" the actress and pop star, 40, tells the U.K. edition of Marie Claire.

"I haven't seen him or talked to him in a while – our lives went in two very different directions. But I always wish him the best and I always thought he was a great person."

Lopez says she's also cordial with another high-profile ex – Diddy. "I've run into him once or twice, with Marc, and it's always very friendly," she says. "He asks about the twins because he has twins, too."

But while Lopez is happy to chat about her ex-boyfriends, she is, of course, happily married to Marc Anthony. And in the wake of the Tiger Woods and Jesse James scandals, she wonders if people are taking the notion of marriage a bit lightly these days.

"It's just the two of you against the world," she says. "When you allow other people into that sacred place it becomes a recipe for mistrust and the deterioration of the bond between you. I think people complicate their lives by doing [expletive]-up things."

On a lighter note, Lopez – now starring in The Back-up Plan – offers some tips for staying healthy in her eating habits.

"One good trick is to have a goal – for me it may be getting in shape for a video shoot," she says. "Another is portion control. I love to eat everything and you pretty much can – a little piece of something fattening is not going to kill you. It's when you eat the whole box that it's going to kill you."

Mariah Carey, Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox and Randy Jackson held a Ustream session last evening.

The group was so hyped about a song on which they were finishing for Carey’s new studio album that they had to share the moment with her fans.

According to Jackson, there are several other collaborators on the project as well as a new concept that they cannot yet reveal.

Mariah Carey:

“The song we did tonight, I don’t want to go into it ’cause I don’t want anybody else to know about it until it’s done. But I think it’s going to make you happy ’cause it already is making me happy.”

Randy Jackson:

“We gonna be making history up in here on the album. Me, B.Cox, Jermaine, Mariah, of course. It’s gonna be on Mariah’s album. And several people we won’t mention yet and a concept we can’t discuss.”

Jordin Sparks To Make Broadway Debut "In The Heights"

Jordin Sparks, the 21-year old singer who came to national fame as the 2007 "American Idol" champion, will make her Broadway debut in "In the Heights," the show's producer's announced today (May 4th). Sparks will play a 12-week run in the musical beginning Aug. 19th.

"In the Heights," which took home both the Tony and Grammy Awards for best musical in 2008, is now in its third year on Broadway. In November, 2008, Universal Pictures acquired the rights to produce a feature film based on "In The Heights," with filming beginning this summer.

"It's always been one of my dreams to perform on Broadway," Sparks said in a statement. "This is a brand new experience for me. I look so forward to spending time in New York City and joining this talented cast and my favorite new musical."

Sparks' last album, "Battlefield," was released in July, 2009 and entered the Billboard 200 at No. 11.

Janet Jackson Attends Met Costume Gala

Last night, a slimmed down Janet Jackson attended the Costume Institute Gala Benefit to celebrate the opening of the "American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity" exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

The exhibition explores developing perceptions of the modern American woman from 1890 to 1940 and how they have affected the way American women are seen today. It runs at the museum from May 5th until August 10th.

Janet previously attended the annual event in 2008.

Mariah And Nick's Anniversary Gifts

Who could possibly upstage Mariah Carey at her own wedding vow renewal ceremony – especially when the bride wears a pink dress, veil and a giant candy-inspired ring?

Turns out, her husband Nick Cannon's grandfather gave it his best shot.

"When some good old-school music came on, he was dancing up on the floor with one of Mariah's dancers," Cannon said on his 92.3 WXRM-FM radio show "Rollin with Nick Cannon" Monday morning. "My grandmother was all upset and ready to go home because my 75-year-old grandfather was dropping it like it was hot with some youngster."

Why the big dance party? Cannon, 29, and Carey, 40, renewed their vows at their Beverly Hills home Friday night in front of 100 guests. The couple first wed in surprise 2008 ceremony at Carey's Bahamian estate.

"My grandparents were crying because they didn't get a chance to come to the first or second one," said Cannon, "[so] a lot of family showed up."

Famous friends like Brett Ratner, Penny Marshall and photographer David LaChapelle also came to support the couple. And they brought gifts. Cannon was especially touched by LaChapelle's present: a dramatic portrait of Michael Jackson, taken before his death, dressed as an angel.

Said Cannon: "That meant a lot because I am a huge Michael Jackson fan. I always say Mike is the reason I am an entertainer."

"That gift was one of my favorite wedding gifts this weekend," he continued, "but I have to say my ultimate favorite was my wife accompanying me to the [Floyd Mayweather-Shane Mosley] fight in Las Vegas."

Christina Aguilera Defends Her "Not Myself Tonight" Video

Christina Aguilera’s music video for her new single, "Not Myself Tonight," has been facing heavy criticism for its overtly sexual content.

However, Christina has not taken such comments lightly. Here is what Aguilera had to say to Access Hollywood about the flak she has been receiving from the press regarding the clip:

“Mama still has to be me,” she said. “I never claimed to be a cookie-cutter soccer mom. That’s all good for some people. Not for me.”

Aguilera — who, in previous interviews, has cited her two-year-old son, Max, as an inspiration for the songs on her upcoming ‘Bionic’ album — said that she doesn’t think the video is inappropriate, and added that just because she’s a mother, it doesn’t mean that she’s not also an artist, one who deals honestly and frankly with the subject of sexuality.

“[Max] is going to grow up in a household where he knows mommy expresses herself artistically and some of that will have to reflect itself sexually too, at times,” she said. “He’s going to learn to respect the fact that women are allowed to express themselves and not feel shameful about their bodies or their sexuality.”

She added that while Max is already a fan of the songs on ‘Bionic,’ he’s not shy about expressing his allegiance to another of his mother’s pop contemporaries.

“He’s really into Rihanna,” Aguilera said. “And he does say ‘Put in mama’s song! Put in mama’s song!’ And then he goes, ‘Go cazy! Go cazy!’ It’s so cute.”

Producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jenkins confirmed that the leaked demo of "Telephone" is in fact Britney Spears singing! He says:

"Just listened and yes its the demo, not a mixed version. I will not leak a mixed version. I am respecting Britney and Jive wishes. I love all of u and I love working with Britney. God bless!"

Darkchild also gave some exciting deets on Britney's upcoming seventh studio album! He reveals:

"Larry Rudolph [Britney's manager] came to my house and we had an incredible conversation about Britney's new album. We talked about the direction of her album, he gave me some insight into the direction and he wants me to work on stuff. I'm about to put 200 percent of my focus into writing a new smash for Britney's new album.

"I think the fans deserve it, I think Britney deserves it and I can't wait to get back into the studio with Britney. I'm about to go crazy.

With Fantasia's upcoming untitled album set for a July 13th release, many of her fans are wondering what type of sound to expect on the record.

In response to that speculation, songwriter Rico Love has spoke to Rap-Up.com about bringing out Fantasia’s “sexy” side. Check out what Love had to say about the project below:

“Fantasia and I did four records together,” he tells Rap-Up.com. “I wanted to make sexy records for Fantasia. I wanted to show people her seductive side. I think we did some really, really strong records.”

The ‘Hey Daddy’ songwriter, who’s worked with everyone from Beyoncé to Shakira, says Fantasia was on his wish list of collaborators. “It was my dream. Fantasia is a great vocalist, one of the greatest I’ve ever worked with.”

The recording process was a breeze. “Literally we were cutting songs in 45 minutes ’cause she would just nail the vibe,” he explains. “Anything I wanted her to sing, she sings it.”
