Katy Perry To Lend Voice To 'Smurfs'
Katy Perry will lend her voice to the new live-action/CGI Smurfs movie, reports Variety.The popstar is to portray Smurfette, the only female Smurf among the group. Alan Cumming and George Lopez will play Gutsy Smurf and Groucy Smurg respectively, while Jonathan Winters has been confirmed to return for the movie as the voice of Papa Smurf.
Neil Patrick Harris was earlier cast as the lead live-action character in the Sony Pictures project.
Scooby Doo's Raja Gosnell is handling directing duties on Smurfs, working from a script by David N. Weiss, J. David Stem, Jay Sherick and David Ronn.

Kelly Clarkson Added To Lilith Fair Lineup
Kelly Clarkson will soon take her pop anthems on the road as the latest artist to join the Lilith Fair. It was announced on Thursday (March 4th) that Clarkson, The Bangles, The Go-Go's, Dixie Chicks' Emily Robison and Martie Maguire's side project the Courtyard Hounds, Martina McBride and Suzanne Vega will be the latest ladies hitting the road for the female-focused festival.
They join previously announced acts like festival founder Sarah McLachlan as well as Ke$ha, Colbie Caillat, Tegan and Sara, Corinne Bailey Rae, Erykah Badu, Emmylou Harris, Metric, Jill Scott, La Roux and Loretta Lynn, to name a few.

Sade And Ke$ha Rule Euro Charts
Billboard's new pan-European sales charts show Sade starting a third week atop European Albums with "Soldier of Love" (Epic/Sony Music Entertainment), while Ke$ha's "Tik Tok" (RCA/Sony Music Entertainment) moves into a fifth week at No. 1 on Hot 100 Singles.The Sade album stays at No. 1 in France and Hungary and moves 2-1 in the Czech Republic and the Belgian region of Wallony, but falls from the summit to No. 2 in Italy and Sweden.
Steady at No. 2 in Switzerland and No. 3 in Portugal, its descent has been more rapid in the United Kingdom, where the set has moved 4-11-21.

Nicole Scherzinger Confirms Pussycat Dolls' 'New Cast'
The Pussycat Dolls as you once knew them are finished. The cats have left the building, leaving lead vocalist Nicole Scherzinger and group founder Robin Antin to take the next step.
In a chat with MTV News on Wednesday, Scherzinger confirmed what Antin had already hinted, and what fans had suspected as members of the group announced one by one that they were pursuing careers away from PCD: "We're also gonna have a new cast of Dolls. And I'm excited," she said.
These days, when Scherzinger isn't working on her "DWTS" moves, she's in the studio recording songs that could appear on the followup to the Dolls' 2008 full-length Doll Domination. "Right now I've been in the studio working on music non-stop. We're gonna have another Pussycat Dolls album for all of our fans out there, but that's gonna be late this year.
"I'm still Nicky Doll," she added. "And I'm just plowing away in the studio making music that I love."
Nicky Doll added that the music she is working on will most likely appear on the next Dolls album, although she didn't rule out the possibility of releasing her long-simmering solo record. "I don't know if I'm gonna put [the new music out] under my name yet or if it's going to be perfect for the Dolls," she said.
"It doesn't matter. I just want to make great music for the fans. It's going to be popular music, but I'm definitely going with [a] more rock, soul-inspired sound."

Whitney Houston Surprises Daughter With Cake On Stage
Whitney Houston added two new songs to her set during her concert Wednesday in Adelaide, Australia.Halfway through the show, during the "unplugged" portion when Houston, 46, performs old hits, she announced it was her daughter Bobbi Kristina's 17th birthday. Houston then sang "Who Would Imagine a King" from The Preacher's Wife. "[It's] one of Krissy's favorites," the source says, "and is not in the show."
Then a birthday cake was rolled out on stage, and Houston invited her daughter to come up, joined by her dancers and another tune – "Happy Birthday," which was sung by the entire audience.
Mother and daughter also celebrated the occasion in Sydney earlier in the week during a stop on the singer's Nothing But Love world tour.

Fergie And The Peas Persist On Hot 100 With "Imma Be"
The Black Eyed Peas hold at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a second week with "Imma Be." The track returns to the top of Digital Songs for a second frame after abdicating the lead spot to "We Are The World 25: For Haiti" by Artists for Haiti for the past two weeks.Young Money moves into the Hot 100 runner-up slot with "BedRock," a new peak for the track. Returning to its prior peak is Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now" which climbs 5-3. It held the same spot three weeks ago.
Ke$ha's "TiK ToK" tumbles 2-4, while Lady Gaga dips 4-5 with "Bad Romance." Train's "Hey, Soul Sister" moves up a spot (7-6), as does Ludacris' "How Low" (8-7).

Rihanna's "Rude Boy" Shoots Up The Charts
Rihanna captures her 14th Hot 100 top 10 as "Rude Boy" catapults 23-8, taking dual Digital & Airplay Gainer honors for a second straight week. The last track to take those awards in successive weeks was Beyonce's "Irreplaceable" in late 2006 as it was making its way to No. 1.
Rihanna has now posted the most Hot 100 top 10s by a female artist since the beginning of the last decade. She had been tied with Beyonce (13 top 10s) among women and is now even with Ludacris (14) for second among all artists. Only Jay-Z, with 15 top 10s since 2000, has scored more.

Shakira Honored At UN Labor Agency
Shakira has received a medal from the U.N. labor agency for her work to help impoverished children.The 33-year-old Colombian singer has worked as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador. Her Barefoot foundation provides nutrition to more than 6,000 children in Colombia, and she is member of the ALAS foundation that advocates for children across Latin America.
At a small ceremony March 3 in Geneva, U.N. labor chief Juan Somavia called Shakira a "true ambassador for children and young people, for quality education and social justice."
Shakira said in a statement Thursday (March 4th) that social, economic and environmental policies must focus on children and their education.
Shakira also spoke last month with President Barack Obama about U.S. policy on children.

Ke$ha Blasts Britney Spears For Lip Syncing
Pop singer Ke$ha has launched a scathing attack at Britney Spears.The "Tik Tok" hitmaker — who is featured on Britney’s track "Lace And Leather" — doesn’t like the fact Brintey Spears lip-syncs during her concerts.
“I don’t think that’s fair at all for people who are going to see the show. I think if you are going to be a singer, you should sing. If you are going to be a dancer, you should dance. If you are going to do a combination of the two, you should make it very clear when you are singing and very clear when you are dancing.
"I would never do that to my fans. No offense to her specifically but people have asked me before to mime. I have been up at three in the morning for a television show with jet lag but I refuse to mime. It’s treating people as if they are too stupid to realize you are not actually singing.
"Sometimes it is hard to sing and dance at the same time but I would rather be off and be real and genuine about it to my fans. I don’t want to treat my fans like they are stupid."

Faith Hill To Perform At Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame
Faith Hill may be a country veteran, but the singer will show off her rock roots when she performs at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony later this month.Hill will be joined by Chris Isaak, Adam Levine and Jesse Carmichael of Maroon 5, Train's Pat Monahan, Ronnie Spector, Fefe Dobson, Eric Burdon and Peter Wolf.
The performers were announced by the hall, which is based in Cleveland. The hall also said surprise guests will appear.
The induction ceremony - which will honor ABBA, Genesis, Jimmy Cliff and more - takes place March 15th in New York and will air live on Fuse TV at 8:30 p.m. EST.

Keyshia Cole Gives Birth to Baby Boy!
It's a boy for Keyshia Cole!The singer, 28, and Cleveland Cavaliers player Daniel Gibson "are proud to announce the birth of their beautiful baby boy, Daniel Hiram Gibson Jr." It's the first child for the R&B star.
The couple's son was born Tuesday at 11:54 p.m., weighing 7 lbs. 3 oz. "Both mother and baby are doing great," she adds.
"The proud couple would like to thank everyone for giving them privacy during this special time. Keyshia would also like to give a special thank you to her fans that have been with her since the beginning sharing in her growth as a woman and an artist."
Cole and Gibson became engaged with "an incredible ring" on New Year's Eve, her rep told Us in early January. "When he asked her to marry him, she was flabbergasted... her mouth dropped in amazement," the rep told Us. "It's too beautiful for words."

Trainer Sues Rihanna Over Unpaid Wages
According to TMZ, Rihanna is facing a lawsuit over her toned physique – the singer’s former personal trainer alleges she is owed $26,000 (£17,300) in unpaid wages.Fitness expert Cindy Percival filed a suit in Los Angeles County Superior Court last week, which states the "Umbrella" hit maker owes her payment for several weeks of intense training.
In the court papers, Percival claims she charged the star $1,500-a-day (£937-a-day) for her services, and is still owed a total of $26,144 for her work with Rihanna last year (09).
The amount also includes $2,644 (£1,762) for travel expenses, which the trainer claims she spent while following the superstar around the world.
Rihanna has recently spoken out in an interview about how she trains:
“I stay in shape with a lot of hard work and a lot of running on the treadmill. Cardio is the key. I have a personal trainer who travels with me if we have a big event coming up. I work out every day but I need a trainer to motivate me – I don’t find it much fun working out on my own.”

Sade Clocks Third Week At No. 1 On Billboard 200
There's no stopping the Sade party as the group's "Soldier of Love" retains the top slot on the Billboard 200 for a third straight week. The album sold 127,000 (down 34%), according to Nielsen SoundScan. In the runner-up slot, Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now" holds down No. 2 position for a third week as well, shifting 118,000 (down 18%).
Unlike last week, where the chart was so sleepy you had to scroll all the way down to No. 42 to find the highest debut, this week there are a pair of new entries in the top 15.
Johnny Cash's "American VI: Ain't No Grave," bows at No. 3 with 54,000. It's the late legend's final installment in his American Recordings series with producer Rick Rubin. The last one, "American V: A Hundred Highways," debuted at No. 1 with 88,000 in July of 2006.

Janet Jackson Appearance On Oprah To Be Taped This Thursday
Janet Jackson and Tyler Perry's upcoming appearance on an episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show has been reported to be taping this Thursday in Chicago.A Janet fan was selected as one of the winners of the contest on Oprah's web site to attend the show. He was told that it would be happening this Thursday, March 4th. It is not yet known when the episode will air.
Perry is spending the entire week in Chicago, where he will be performing in the play Madea's Big Happy Family from March 2nd until the 6th at the Aire Crown Theatre, according to his official website.
It is rumored that Janet will be performing her new song "Nothing," off the soundtrack to the movie.

After a short visit to ‘the dark side’, Rihanna is about to return to her old ways and funky beats with her fifth studio album. Sean Garrett gave details on his work with her exclusively to Rap-Up.com:

Sticky And Sweet Tour DVD Release Update
An official confirmation of the delay of the release date for the Sticky & Sweet Tour in the U.S. market comes in from Madonna.com:While Madonna's "Sticky & Sweet" Tour will hit worldwide stores on DVD, CD and Blu Ray March 30th, please note that it will be released just one week later in the US, on April 6th.
To coincide with this new release date, the VH1 broadcast of the show has been pushed to April 2nd. A chance for US fans to watch the show on TV four days before its domestic release.

Lady Gaga Says She Is Single And Celibate
Lady Gaga has made an art form of skimpy outfits, but at the moment it's all for show. The pop star says she is currently single and celibate."I haven't got time to spend on the road to get to know anyone," she told reporters Monday at MAC cosmetics' Viva Glam event in London, reports the U.K.'s Mirror. "Even Lady Gaga can be celibate. You don't have to have sex to be loved."
The "Poker Face" singer, 23, who arrived at the event in a sexy see-through black lace dress, may be abstaining – but that doesn't preclude her from offering opinions about what goes on in the bedroom.
"Sex should be fun, beautiful and colorful, but women get the short end of the stick," she says. "We're just receivers. We can't talk about sex, we can't sing about sex."
To keep the loneliness at bay while on tour, she takes strength from her fans, whom she calls her "roommates."
"When I see my beautiful fans I feel how much they protect and mean to me," she says. "It would be irresponsible if I didn't protect them and teach young people to be self-expressive, to love yourself."

Christina Milian Welcomes A New Baby Girl
It's a girl for pop singer/actress Christina Milian and husband The-Dream.The singer-actress delivered daughter Violet on Feb. 26th, her rep confirms to PEOPLE, saying the girl has "a full head of hair."
This is the first child for Milian, 28, and the fourth for singer-songwriter and record producer, 31, who has three children with his ex-wife, singer Nivea.
The couple who wed in September, announced the pregnancy in October.

Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts Officially Leaves Group!
Just when we thought the Pussycat Dolls much publicized fallout couldn’t get any worse, member Ashley Roberts has announced that she has left the group – leaving lead and only singer Nicole Scherzinger as the only remaining member.Yes, I have left the Pussycat Dolls..I love you all sooo much!!! I am so grateful to have the love and support of all of you. It was an amazing ride and I learned so much!
You will be able to see me as the host of the upcoming Maxim does Spring Break on E! I will be heading to florida next week to shoot and am really excited to have fun and meet new people. Good motivation to gettin my booty in shape. hahaha :p
I am currently have gotten the acting bug and am falling in love with it. I have a few projects in the works and when ready I will announce more details to all of you.
I shot a pilot for Mtv as a host.. and had a blast w my girl Aubrey Oday, Marques Houston and Record producer Ghost.
