Brooke Shields Reveals MJ's Proposal
Brooke Shields tells Rolling Stone that Michael Jackson proposed to her many years ago."I was 13 when I first met Michael Jackson," she tells the mag. "We instantly became friends. Nothing was jaded about him. I just was so impressed by his sweetness. He was thoughtful, sensitive, sweet, and had a funny sense of humor.
If you got to talk to him about music or about the future of technology, his voice would get deeper, he would start talking, and it was as if he was this genius."
She says the two formed a close bond, with Michael proposing marriage. "There were times when he would ask me to marry him, and I would say, 'You have me for the rest of your life, you don't need to marry me, I'm going to go on and do my own life and have my own marriage and my own kids, and you'll always have me.' I think it made him relax. He didn't want to lose things that meant something to him," she adds.
"As he grew older and the more he started to change physically, the more asexual he became to me," she says. "It was easy for him to be a friend to me, because I was the most celebrated virgin ever; it's ridiculous, but I was America's virgin. You saw women who were more sexual, who wanted to throw themselves at him and feel like they were going to teach him; we just found each other, and we didn't have to deal with our sexuality.
As I grew up and started having boyfriends, I would share with him, and he was like a little kid who talked about the bases- what first base was, what second base was, and it sounded very odd to the outside, I can imagine, but to the inside, to someone who's never really left his bubble, you can understand how he would be curious."
Brooke also reveals the last time she was with Michael, saying, "The last time I saw him in person was at Elizabeth Taylor's wedding in 1991. He seemed like his own funny self. We snuck in and took pictures of ourselves next to her dress. We always seemed to revert to being little kids. It was a sanctuary for him, because he knew I never wanted anything from him but his happiness."

Elizabeth Taylor Not Attending MJ's Memorial
Pouring out her grief on her Twitter page, Elizabeth Taylor says she's going to skip Michael Jackson's memorial – and she feels the pop star would have approved of her decision."I just don't believe that Michael would want me to share my grief with millions of others. How I feel is between us. Not a public event," she writes.
Taylor, 77, one of Jackson's closest friends, says she was asked to speak at the Tuesday event at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. "I cannot be part of the public whoopla," she writes. "And I cannot guarantee that I would be coherent to say a word."
Instead, she's expressing herself in writing. "I will always love Michael from the depth of my being and nothing can separate us." And, she adds, "My love goes out to Katherine and Michael's beloved children."

Madonna's Tribute To Michael Jackson In London
Madonna thrilled fans in London on Saturday night by performing a medley of Michael Jackson's hits at the O2 Arena - just a week before the late legend was due to grace the same stage. The pop superstar restarted her Sticky & Sweet world tour in the British capital but stopped the show to give her own personal tribute to Jackson, who passed away in Los Angeles last week.
The Material Girl recently confirmed that she planned to perform with Jackson at one of his 50 comeback concerts, which were due to kick off on July 13th.
Madonna halted the gig halfway through while iconic images of the tragic star flashed up on screens behind her.
As the beat to Jackson's classic hit "Billie Jean" was pumped into the arena, one of her dancers, dressed in the King of Pop's trademark black and white with a wide-brimmed hat and white gloves, began performing Jackson's most famous moves - including moonwalking across the stage.
The song turned into a medley with another classic Jackson hit, "Wanna Be Startin' Something," much to the delight of the London crowd.
Madonna told the audience, "Let's give it up for one of the greatest artists the world has ever known - Michael Jackson!"
Later in the gig, the lyrics to Jackson's hit track "Man in the Mirror" were flashed up on screen as Madonna took to the stage wearing a black armband and a single white glove - in honor of the late music legend. In an interview before the concert, the star expressed her shock over the sudden passing of her friend -- and explained her onstage tribute.
She says, "I am so terribly sad about Michael Jackson's death. I don't know what artist wasn't inspired by him.
"I chose 'Billie Jean' (to perform at the O2) because it's instantly recognizable.
"Kento, my dancer, was obsessed with Michael all his life. And when Michael was having auditions for his tour, Kento really wanted to go but he'd already made a commitment to me. So now he's about to have his moment and be Michael at my show."
A final tribute to the late Michael Jackson came in the show's final number - "Give It 2 Me."

Michael Jackson's Ghost Debuts On CNN?!
Judge Removes Mom's Control Of M.J.'s Estate!!!
The keys to Michael Jackson's kingdom have just been ripped from his mother's hands.Over the objections of Katherine Jackson, a Los Angeles probate judge today ruled that Michael Jackson's 2002 will is indeed valid and that, per the King of Pop's wishes, attorney John Branca and veteran music executive John McClain are executors of his estate.
Lawyers for Jackson's mother wanted Judge Mitchell Beckloff to delay the decision. One of her lawyers, John Schreiber, argued that "there is concern over handing over the keys to the kingdom so quickly."
Her attorneys also suggested that because McClain suffers from a disability, he is unfit to make decisions on Michael's estate, which is estimated to be worth more than $500 million.
But Beckloff refused, telling Schreiber, "Someone needs to be at the helm of the ship."
Katherine Jackson had been appointed temporary executor last week, when the family still believed the star had died without a will.
But then Branca surfaced with a five-page document written seven years ago, establishing him and McClain as executors, splitting the estate among the singer's mother, three children and charities, dissing ex-wife Debbie Rowe and giving Katherine custody of his kids.
At a press conference after the hearing, Branca's attorney Howard Weitzman said the executors were pleased with the ruling and sent condolences to the family.
"We believe Judge Beckloff made the correct decision. We intend to carry out the wishes Michael Jackson set forth. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Jackson family this week in remembering Michael as a beloved father, son and brother, and as the world honors his remarkable legacy as an artist."

Madonna’s New Couture Costumes For Sticky & Sweet
Madonna looks fiercer than ever on stage these days, and she has one man to thank for that On the opening night of the Material Girl’s Sticky & Sweet tour’s second leg July 4th in London, Madonna wowed fans with a new “super couture, sensual, Goth, bondage” costume that Givenchy Haute Couture’s Riccardo Tisci designed for her opening act. “What I wanted for the opening was to give a very iconic view of Madonna,” Tisci tells PEOPLE exclusively.
“She’s wearing an outfit that will make history. I wanted to do something even stronger (than what he designed for her in the tour’s first leg) because she wants to be stronger.”
Working with the Queen of Pop was easy, says Tisci. “I just met her six months ago and I’m completely in love with her,” he says. “She’s an artist but she let me express myself, which is rare. She knew what she liked from my collection and wanted me to translate that for her on stage.”
He also designed a new dress for another part of her show. “She said she wanted to do colors,” he says. “I said why not? So we did fluorescent rosary necklaces (over a black dress.)” Tisci was also very impressed with Madonna’s ability to remain calm in the midst of so much activitity, rehearsing and putting her tour together. And yet, he says, “She was very calm and Zen. She is a Leo like me. For Leos to be calm and Zen takes time because we are very energetic. She was amazing.”
And while Madonna may be strong, that doesn’t mean that she isn’t deeply feeling the death of friend Michael Jackson, paying homage to him midway through her Saturday night’s show at London’s O2 arena — where Jackson was scheduled to kick off his “This Is It” tour on July 13th.
During her show, one of her dancers burst onto the stage dressed in Jackson’s trademark fedora, sequined jacket, white t-shirt and white glove, boogeying to a medley of his megahits including “Wanna Be Starting Something."
“All right people!” Madonna said afterward. “Let’s give it up for one of the greatest artists the world has ever known: Michael Jackson! Long live the King!!!” And we say long live her Majesty.

''I Want The Madonna Bag, The Madonna Shoes!''
Marc Jacobs was so pleased with this spring’s Louis Vuitton campaign featuring Madonna that he was eager to do an encore."But very quickly Marc said, 'I want something completely different,'" Antoine Arnault, Vuitton's communication director, is quoted by WWD as saying.
The new ingredients included a dash of Tamara de Lempicka and a soupçon of Man Ray for color-drenched images by Steven Meisel with a surreal edge, thanks to generous use of solarization, a technique of overexposure first perfected by Ray.
"It gives something very graphic, more edgy" than the first Madonna campaign, also by Meisel, Arnault said. Asked about the impact of the first Madonna campaign, he also reveals that "everything she was wearing in the first campaign was sold within a few months. People came into the store saying, 'I want the Madonna bag, the Madonna shoes."

News On Shakira's Upcoming Album
Shakira's new album which is untitled for now will be electronic and dance which will be release this October. Shakira released the Spanish version of her new single "She Wolf" on June 29th which is "a reflection of her own liberty, as a woman of 32 years who feels the right to defend her wishes," Shakira explained.
The song is also a bit feminist, she added. The launch of the English version will be out in about a week. Her new album will feature ten songs which will be seven songs in English and three songs in Spanish.
"Writing is a mystery for me, I don't know how it happens," Shakira confessed when she was asked about how she gets inspired. "It's like the world of dreams, like when we dream the whole night and when we wake up, we don't remember anything."

Mariah's Not Dissing Eminem In 'Obsessed'?
Despite the fact that Mariah Carey, dressed in drag, sort of resembles Eminem in her new video for "Obsessed," husband Nick Cannon isn't sure why people would think that Carey is dissing Eminem in the track. "I don't know. Honestly, I don't think so," Cannon told MTV News when asked if the song is about the rapper, who seemingly took a jab at Carey in his song, "Bagpipes From Baghdad."
"I don't think that she would take her time," Cannon said. "My wife doesn't beef. She's Mariah Carey. She's not beefin', she's a vegetarian."
Cannon said that the song – which will be included on Carey's album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, due this fall – was more inspired by a certain Lindsay Lohan flick than by a need to retaliate against Em.
"People keep saying ['Obsessed'] was directed at certain people," Cannon said. "To be completely honest, she did the record 'cause she's a huge fan of this movie 'Mean Girls,' and there's a line in the movie where one of the girls is like, 'Why are you so obsessed with me?' She says that at the beginning of the song, and that's where the concept came from. But you know, art imitates life."
Cannon has his own theory about just who he'd like the song to be about, and it's not Eminem.
"I always say I thought the record was about me, 'cause I'm obsessed with my wife," he said. "But if somebody's out there and you feel like you might have been obsessed, then the record's about you."

An Even More Stickier Backdrop
Madonna fans heading to the latest leg of her Sticky & Sweet tour, which kicks back off in London on Saturday, are in for a surprise. The opening song, "Candy Shop," will be performed under a pair of giant luscious, pink lips licking and sucking on sparkly gold, orange, silver and green goo.
The nine-minute video, titled "Green Pink Caviar", is a new addition to the tour courtesy of artist Marilyn Minter, whose photographic work is in Madonna’s personal collection.
"When I heard Madonna might be interested [in the video], I said, 'Wow, how much does she want me to pay her?'" laughs Minter, who was initially told it was too late to insert anything into the tour. Apparently it was too good to resist and became part of the show.
"Then [Madonna] actually paid me a bunch of money and sent tickets," said Minter, who is on her way to the U.K. for her first-ever Madonna concert to see her video in action.
Minter-watchers will recognize the short as a movie "trailer" that played at the Sunshine Cinemas and on a Times Square screen earlier this year. It will also feature on two large screens in Los Angeles when Minter’s next show opens at Regen Projects on Oct. 24.
